1. Who we are
Kotodama Letters is run by Shu Works (Hidehiko Mizuno), a small business in Japan. You can reach us at letters@shu-works.art. Our full business details are in our Legal Notice (Specified Commercial Transactions Act) and Contact Information.
2. Using our store
By placing an order, you agree to these terms. We currently ship to the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada. Please give us a correct name and mailing address, because we write each envelope from the details you provide.
3. Your subscription
Kotodama Letters is a monthly subscription at US$22 a month, shipping included. How billing, renewals, cancelling, delivery and missing letters work is explained in our Refund & Subscription Policy and our Shipping Policy, which form part of these terms. If we ever change the price, we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
4. Payment
Payments are processed by Shopify Payments or PayPal. We do not see or store your full card details.
5. Delivery
Letters are sent from Japan by untracked international airmail. Delivery times are guides, not promises, and we can't guarantee a delivery date. Please see our Shipping Policy.
6. What the letters are
Each letter is a creative paper product: a letter, paper-cut artwork and small paper items about one Japanese word. It is not issued by any shrine or temple, and it makes no promise of any spiritual, health or personal effect. Paper-cut artwork is cut and finished in small batches, so small marks or differences from the photos are part of the process. Colours may look different on your screen.
7. Personal use
The letters, artwork, puzzles and online content are for your personal, non-commercial enjoyment. Please do not copy, reprint, scan for sharing, resell or use them commercially. You are welcome to share photos of your letter on social media.
8. Online pages and videos
Some letters link to pages or videos on our website. We may update, change or remove this online content at any time.
9. Our responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, our responsibility for any claim related to a letter is limited to the amount you paid for that month's letter. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the consumer laws of your country.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes do not apply to orders already placed.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. If you live outside Japan, you keep any protections that the consumer laws of your country give you.
